The Nuns Valley – Tour Description
The Nuns Valley running tour is one of our hardest trail running tours we have, not just because of the distance but also of the technical trails you run in.
This running tour starts at the viewpoint of Boca dos Namorados where you have a superior and beautiful view over Curral das Freiras (Nuns Valley) village. You start the descent into that village through a technical trail in the shade of big nut and chestnut trees, then you enter and cross Curral das Freiras through some paved and old paths.
Leaving the village you have a long big uphill and you will pass by some of the highest mountains of the island like Pico Casado and Pico Grande.
In this section, some of the technical trails look more like skyrunning. So, you better prepare yourself!
Arriving Boca da Corrida viewpoint you start running down to the Levada da Corrida where you will have a comfortable flat run to finish again at the same place you started.
